Turkey's real estate sector is moving into the future. The foundation of the country's first development project capable of generating electricity for its facilities and residents was has been laid in the city of Enisehir, Mersin province. This is reported by the Emlak Kulisi construction and real estate newspaper in Turkey. The Solaris project with a total area of 27,000 square meters (91 percent of the area will be green space) will consist of two high-rise blocks and a solar power plant (with an area of 3,000 square meters), capable of meeting the electricity needs of the project's public spaces and its facilities. Thanks to the renewable energy source, Solaris save about 10,000 trees annually and offset 8.5 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions.
The contractor for the Solaris project is the construction company Ekinci Insaat, which has been on the market since 1970. It is reported that the construction will be completely environmentally friendly, the project will use systems and materials that meet the principles of sustainability. The project will also have its own hot water supply system, which will save water by 41 percent. And hot water will reach apartments in just 10 seconds.
