According to the statistical report published today, home sales to foreigners in June 2022 almost doubled compared to the same month last year (+81.8%): 8630 transactions took place in the sixth month of the year.
As a result, the share of transactions with foreigners in total sales amounted to 5.7% - an unprecedented indicator before.
As for the cities preferred by residents of other states, Istanbul, Turkey's largest metropolis, is in the first place: 3,906 transactions. The second «prize-winner» is the «resort capital» of the country Antalya, where foreigners have purchased 2,534 apartments, townhouses or houses; the third is Mersin, which is gaining popularity, where the airport is being rapidly completed; 428 transactions took place here in a month.
The volume of transactions with foreigners for the period from January to June increased by 72.7% compared to the same period last year, reaching 35,383.
As for the countries whose citizens have purchased the most housing on the territory of the Republic of Turkey, in June 2022, Russia is in first place: 1887 transactions. On the second - Iran (987), on the third - Iraq.
Let's clarify that Russians are leading in terms of the volume of real estate purchased by foreigners in Turkey for the third month in a row, and by a huge margin. If by March 2022 they were in the «top three winners», but in third place, behind the Iranians and Iraqis, then since April they have consistently occupied the first. In April 2022, citizens of the Russian Federation purchased 1,152 housing units, in May - 1,275, and now in June - 1,887 at once.
