President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that the authorities intend to restore every house and every workplace destroyed or rendered uninhabitable or commercial as a result of the earthquake, and will transfer them to the rightful owners of real estate.
At the beginning of March, it is planned to begin construction of the first thirty thousand residences. An additional reserve of funds in banks for lending is planned for businesses in the affected region. In addition, the Turkish banking sector has already allocated a certain percentage of its profits in 2022 to combat the consequences of the earthquake: at the moment it is about 50 billion Turkish lira (TL).
The President also clarified that at the moment temporary asylum has been provided to 1.6 million victims. A lot of effort has been thrown into the purchase or own production of residential containers as a temporary "roof over your head" for those who have lost their homes. The number of tents installed in the earthquake zones exceeded 175,000, and the number of residential containers exceeded 5 500.
It is also already known that the relatives of the victims of the earthquake will be paid 100 thousand Turkish lira (TL) in cash, for urgent needs.
Earlier it was reported that the municipality of Alanya additionally took care to make the city more earthquake-resistant.
