The new Istanbul airport has served one and a half million flights

It would seem that the new Istanbul Airport, which replaced the Ataturk airport, was opened quite recently. Nevertheless, time flies fast; and since the beginning of its work (October 29, 2018), the air hub has managed to accept and send about 1.5 million flights:

from December 29, 2018 to December 31, 2019, it passed through 51.96 million passengers;

in 2020 - 23.33 million passengers (the decline is understandable: the first year of the pandemic);

in 2021 - 36.99 million passengers;

in 2022 - 64.29 million passengers;

in January-June 2023 - so far 33.26 million passengers.

The total number of air travelers who passed through the airport at the time of the formation of these statistics (June 21, 2023) amounted to 209,796,527 passengers. The number of flights received and dispatched is 1,447,716, for the same period.

The national airline Turkish Airlines (THY) is actively hiring employees after the end of the pandemic. To motivate new employees and retain old ones, they even launched their own housing project, where airline employees, subject to certain conditions, will be able to apply for preferential apartments. Theoretically, 14,000 THY employees will be able to get housing here.
