Real estate in Turkey: the main news of the past week – April 1-7

We present the most significant news events of the construction and residential real estate market in Turkey for the first week of April.

The most important, undoubtedly, is that the draft law banning the sale of housing to foreigners in Turkey, put forward by the opposition, was rejected. So potential investors have nothing to fear at the moment. Except perhaps the continuation of price growth: according to this parameter, the Republic of Turkey has bypassed six dozen states at once, judging by the recent rating. Well, the volume of housing transactions with foreigners has grown by 172% in a few years, analysts say.

Interested parties are not deterred by the high cost of apartments in the most popular areas - for example, in some places in Istanbul they have become more expensive than houses in the United States - nor by the seismic hazard of some regions, including the largest Turkish metropolis. Where large residential complexes for hundreds of residences continue to be actively built and put on sale; one of these was recently announced in the Maslak district

Although someone has reoriented to more "stable" territories in the tectonic sense; for example, Ankara. Many international companies are also moving their offices, previously based in Istanbul, to the Turkish capital.

Many families in the affected regions also chose to move to Ankara for a number of reasons; as a result, the range of rental housing here has decreased by almost a third in just a month. Because people need to live somewhere: the authorities expect to build 650 000 apartments for victims as quickly as possible, but it still takes time.

Of the other alternative options to provide themselves with a roof over their heads, these people are offered, in particular, prefabricated prefabricated houses. Which, in fact, differ little from traditional reinforced concrete or rather, they differ, but they have about the same service life; at the same time, they are much cheaper.
