Russians in April 2023 somewhat slowed down the pace of housing acquisition, but they are still in the lead. We present the latest data published recently by the Turkish Institute of Statistics.
The volume of transactions with foreigners decreased by more than half - by 60.3% compared to April 2022: 2,557 transactions. This is 3% of the total sales for the month. For comparison, in March, more than three thousand units of residential real estate sold to citizens of other states were recorded.
In April, Antalya, Istanbul and Mersin are the priority for interested parties from abroad.
As for the nationality of the new homeowners in Turkey, the Russians, although they have "slowed down", are still in the lead: they have bought more than eight hundred residences (817) over the past month. A new "trend" has also emerged: Ukrainians have outpaced the Iraqis, displacing them from third to fourth place in the ranking of leading countries.

Foreigners who have chosen Turkey prefer to buy housing here, if possible, rather than rent. Especially recently, when rental rates are causing them more and more dissatisfaction.
