Transportation between Antalya and Mersin is simplified thanks to the improvement of the road infrastructure: on April 27, the last three tunnels and two viaducts on the section between Mersin and Aydincik will be put into operation. Thus, the coastal highway connecting Mersin and Anamur will be fully completed.
Recall that as part of the implementation of the Mediterranean Coastal Road project, designed and built between Mersin and Antalya, 394 kilometers of multi-lane highway were opened for traffic; a total of 19 tunnels and 61 bridges or viaducts were built.
The result is pleasing: the road between Mersin and Antalya will be reduced by tens of kilometers, and the travel time will be up to five hours.
Mersin Province is now actively developing not only in terms of transport and social infrastructure, but also in terms of the construction of new housing: after all, this region will become one of the key ones for the Turkish economy in connection with the construction of Turkey's first Akkuyu nuclear power plant. In particular, the metro is being built here at a rapid pace.
