The Head of the Chamber of Real Estate Agents of Ankara, Hakan Akcam, said that there is serious activity in the real estate market in the Turkish capital: only over the past two weeks, a very significant increase in real estate prices has been recorded in Ankara.
One of the reasons for this is the spontaneous migration of the inhabitants of Istanbul to other cities: knowing that the largest Turkish metropolis is located in an area with increased seismic hazard, as well as that a large percentage of the housing stock here is quite decrepit, people decided to move to "lay straws".
And Ankara was included in the list of cities preferred by Istanbul residents. This is in addition to the fact that the capital of the Republic of Turkey has already received a considerable number of internally displaced persons from the earthquake-affected provinces: about 350 000 of it came here, according to media reports. Recall that more than a million people have changed their place of residence in total.
As a result, prices for residential real estate in Ankara have risen sharply - both for purchase and for rent. Subsidies from the state do not solve this issue. Although housing is sold, of course, much slower than it is rented. Anyway, the cost has risen by 65% in a matter of weeks, Hakan Akcham said.
