Antalya, the «resort capital» of Turkey, a favorite of tourists and immigrants from many countries, will teach taxi drivers English, German and Russian. To begin with, at a basic level, but in any case, this initiative of the local authorities will greatly facilitate communication with users of taxi services.
The Mayor of Antalya, Ersin Yazidzhi, recalled that the first people who meet tourists in the «tourist paradise», Antalya, are taxi drivers in most cases. Therefore, they should not give up this kind of "professional development". Although at a recent meeting with taxi drivers, when this information was announced, the head of the city paid attention to listening to the wishes and demands of drivers in order to take into account and, as far as possible, solve their problems. The meeting was also attended by the chairman of the local Chamber of Drivers Mehmet Ali Alkan.
«Millions of tourists come to Antalya every year for an average of 10 days. And often it is based on the impression of Antalya that they form an opinion about the whole of Turkey», Mr. Yazidzhi clarified. «Therefore, we should not forget that we represent the whole country to a large extent».
Basic English, German and Russian courses will start for taxi drivers in December 2022.
