Bulent Ersoy, a 69-year-old Turkish transgender singer and a symbol of tolerance for LGBT people in Turkish media, has drawn public attention to the country's most fashionable resort, Bodrum. According to media reports, Bulent Ersoy has bought two luxury villas in Bodrum overlooking the fortress in Mugla, where Turkish top celebrities have already bought luxurious properties. The total cost of two villas in Bodrum was 40 million TL (more than 4 million euros), the singer received a TAPU last week and celebrated the purchase with friends in one of Bodrum's restaurants. Reasons for buying villas were coronavirus and the earthquake in Izmir. According to the singer, she spends most of the time in self-isolation at home. Therefore, Ersoy bought a secluded and earthquake-resistant housing by the sea to feel safe.
Bulent Ersoy: “The earthquake wounded me from the inside. It's very bad when people have to see it with their own eyes."
Bodrum is a popular destination among property investors and it offers the most expensive real estate in Turkey.
