There have been many difficulties in the country with unlicensed intermediaries-foreigners selling real estate.
Recall that the growing volume of housing transactions with citizens of other states to some extent provoked the appearance in Turkey of a number of agencies acting as a «buffer» between the seller and the buyer: after all, some interested parties, especially those who do not speak either Turkish or English, prefer to deal with «their own». And not all such real estate companies with foreign employees (as well as individual agents) have the appropriate license that in the end often ends up wasting time and, even worse, money. Deputy Chairman of the Association of Entrepreneurs in the Field of real Estate (TÜGEM) Mustafa Oselmadzhykly complained: «The number of victims of such unlicensed foreign intermediaries is growing day by day».
Local realtors demanded that the authorities intervene: to adopt an appropriate resolution that will at least begin to solve this problem.
Mustafa Oselmadzhykly also clarified that foreign buyers are not well informed enough; many problems arise due to the content (texts) of purchase and sale agreements and other documents. Moreover, in addition to conscious deception, there is also insufficient competence of performers: «Foreign real estate agencies do not pass due audit. In this regard, it is necessary to take measures and increase the number of inspections», the expert insists. Besides, such agencies should closely cooperate with Turkish ones – those that have proven their competence and professionalism, the players of the sphere believe.
Earlier, we reported that in 2023, both the real estate tax and the commission for intermediary agents are expected to increase.
