Real estate in Turkey: the main news of the past week – June 10-16

We present a traditional cross-section of the most widely read news in the field of construction, housing, buying and renting over the past week.

Turkey is still "ahead of the whole planet": according to the updated rating, it leads among 58 countries in terms of housing price growth.

Turkish contractors are also setting records; in the first five months of 2023 alone, they completed $6.5 billion worth of work on their profile outside the country.

But with the rental housing market within the borders of the country, not everything is so rosy: landlords continue to "tighten the screws" and increasingly seek to evict tenants under any pretext as early as possible - in just a few months. In case of disagreement, lawyers strongly recommend going to court. Tenants, of course, not owners.

There are desperately not enough vacant apartments in popular locations - this is, in particular, Istanbul; as well as the province of Edirne, which is considered highly earthquake-resistant - there are no empty residences for rent during the day with fire.

Perhaps the situation will improve when the control over rental rates promised by the authorities will work in full force; well, theoretically, the entry of new objects into the market can play a role. Which in Istanbul, for example, start one after another: a new project was announced in Tuzla, and pre-sales began in three Next Level complexes at once (developer - Pasifik GYO).

Well, good news for those moving: medical care at home is being systematically introduced for elderly citizens in Turkey. Recall that citizenship can be obtained by living for 5 years on a residence permit by TAP or by purchasing a "passport for investment".
