Within the first six months of 2020, 581,798 apartments and villas were sold in Turkey. This is 32 percent (or 141,374 units) more than in the first half of 2019. These stats have been provided by the Ministry of Environment and Urban Planning of Turkey.
According to the ministry, Istanbul has become the city with the largest number of real estate sales in Turkey (95,271 units) in 6 months. The most popular districts of Istanbul this year were: Esenyurt (12,983 objects, three times more than in other popular districts), Pendik (4,872 objects), Sancaktepe (4,836 objects), Basaksehir (4,830 objects) and Beylikdüzü (4,328 objects).
Ankara took the second place in terms of the number of home sales in Turkey in the first half of 2020. In the capital, 64,052 properties were sold in six months. The most popular districts of Ankara are: Kecioren 10,198 objects), Cankaya (9,886 objects), Mamak (8,175 objects), Yenimahalle (7,766 objects) and Etimesgut (7,651 objects).
