The ministry of finance controls the payment of rent

The Ministry of Finance and Treasury has launched an updated audit process, focusing its attention, among other things, on rental income. Rather, not on the fact of income itself, but on the correctness of making a payment.

Some of the tenants have started receiving notifications from the tax office in their mailboxes with the need to confirm exactly how they pay the rent. This is aimed at ensuring the "transparency" of payments, correct tax revenues, as well as avoiding "black" income (we are talking about owners renting apartments and houses).

According to the latest data received, inspections of residential complexes, screens and apartment buildings that do not declare rental income have increased. In recent months alone, about 4.5 million apartments have been inspected.

As for the "letters of happiness" received by tenants from the tax service, if the lease was executed correctly, with a contract, and the money is transferred to the owner's account through the bank, then there will be no questions to the tenants: the check is a pure formality. The tax service will request documents such as a lease agreement, bank payment receipts and information about the agent who rented the apartment, if it is not the owner himself; that's all. Taking this opportunity, if the tenant has questions of a financial nature to the landlord, they can be asked. Or to clarify where to contact them.

However, with the introduction of the mediation system, there have been fewer disputes on this topic; most of the complaints in the housing and communal services sector are now fixed at too high a rate.
