Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismayiloglu recently clarified information on the Basaksehir-Kayashehir metro line under construction, the opening of which is eagerly awaited by residents of several Istanbul districts at once.
There will be four stations on this line with a total length of 6.2 km: Onurkent, City Hospital, Kayashehir and Kayashehir Square.
The "branch line" will be integrated into the Bagcylar-Olympiatkey line and the New Airport in Halkaly. Thanks to this, residents of the districts of Gungeren, Bagcylar, Bakhchelievler and Bashaksehir will be able to get to the New Airport by metro.
As for the travel time, the road between Kayashehir and Mahmutbey will take 20 minutes, 29 minutes - between Metrokent and Bakyrkey Square stations, 24 minutes - between Metrokent and the New Airport, and 23 minutes - between Jam stations and Sakura City Hospital.
At the moment, the plans are to put the Bashaksehir-Kayashehir line into operation in April, but even in case of some delay, it will definitely be launched before the date of the presidential elections in May 2023.
Earlier it was reported that the number of investments for another line of the Istanbul metro has been determined.
