Bodrum is a popular resort in the Muğla Province that is becoming increasingly sought-after by both holidaymakers and investors.
This season, according to unofficial data, it is so packed with tourists from all over the world that many businesses in the service sector, such as shops, restaurants, etc., started accepting payments in euros. Workers’ salaries in some places have also been calculated in euro equivalent.
That is why developers, and not only Turkish ones, are basically fighting for the right to present their new projects here. One international company after another is purchasing local land and beginning construction. Best hotels by world-famous brands and top-of-the-line projects of upscale housing are under construction or already completed.
Efe Bezci, Deputy Chairman of the Board at Besa Group, reports the rapidly growing interest in the resort: “We had witnessed significant interest in Bodrum for many years but it peaked when the pandemic started – to some extent, thanks to the pandemic. Now the whole world is looking at Bodrum. World-famous hotel chains, restaurants, and clothing brands, even small ones, are fighting to be represented in the resort.”
And this is true: the average room rate in a tourist district starts at EUR 150 and can reach up to EUR 1,000. Access to luxurious beaches can cost several hundred euros and renting a detached home, even a small one, at least EUR 10,000 per month.
Over the past two months, Bodrum has been obviously overcrowded. The projects that have already been launched will benefit greatly from that. These include BO Viera, an 85-room hotel by Hilton Group on 150-hectare grounds. Details of a new project called Ap Sea Gate, a creation of Şani İnşaat developer, and the exclusive ID Bodrum Yalıları (the first Bodrum project by Öztek Yapı) have recently been publicized.
