In 2018, 55,000 foreigners bought apartments and houses in Turkey, in 2019 - about 64,000 foreigners, in 2020 at the moment this figure is about 20,000 people. If in past years, nationals of Germany and Great Britain most often bought real estate in Turkey, then in the last 2 years buyers from Iraq came to the fore, overtaking the British (2nd place). The leaders in buying Turkish housing today are also Russians and Germans, in addition to them - residents of countries who buy real estate in Turkey to get Turkish citizenship (Iranians, Afghans). Although Russians also have recently been increasingly turning to Turkish real estate agencies to buy real estate that will allow them to get Turkish citizenship. Apparently, the unstable economic and political situation in Russia is forcing more and more people to buy relatively inexpensive apartments in Turkey for relocation.
