Real Estate in Turkey: the main news of the past week – february 24-march 1

According to our tradition, we publish every Friday the latest news about real estate, construction and transport infrastructure in Turkey over the past week.

Last year's economic difficulties continue to affect the entire sector. For example, the number of building permits issued has tripled compared to the annual average several years ago.

Locals are also dissatisfied: the number of housing loans issued has decreased not because they "do not want to take them out", but because "banks are reluctant to issue them" by raising interest rates.

Renting is becoming more expensive not only for housing, but also for offices and warehouses.

Poor families can only rely on the help of the Government, which is making significant efforts: it constantly announces subsidies and builds residential complexes for beneficiaries. For example, over 1,300 apartments will soon be handed over to the poor in Istanbul and Ankara. It was also reported about a large community in Istanbul's Gaziosmanpaşa district, with 665 apartments for the same target audience of customers.

It is possible to increase family incomes by renting inherited and uncultivated agricultural land: this opportunity has appeared recently.
