624 thousand properties sold in Turkey in six months

According to the data published in the quarterly real estate market report in Turkey, 624 thousand apartments and houses were sold in the country for the six months of 2020. What preceded this? The last quarter of 2019 (as well as the first two months in 2020) turned out to be quite busy for the Turkish economy and its commercial structures. However, in March 2020, the coronavirus pandemic also affected Turkey, suspending or slowing down many economic processes. Thus, the  country's construction sector in the first quarter of 2020 decreased by 1.5 percent, and the real estate sector in Turkey, which had previously demonstrated dynamic growth, grew as a result by only 2.4 percent.

In the first half of 2019, 505 thousand houses and apartments were sold in Turkey, i.e. growth rate of sales of Turkish homes in the first quarter of 2020 was 23.5 percent. Considering the economic consequences of the coronavirus pandemic, this growth rate is relatively high, experts say.
