Demand for prefab houses increases in Turkey after Izmir earthquake

Sales of prefabricated houses in Turkey have increased three to four times. This is especially true in the province of Izmir, where an earthquake struck on October 30 and destroyed thousands of properties. Along with the increasing demand for prefabricated housing, the demand for land in Turkey also continues to grow. Small plots of land for individual use are especially popular today. Those who are afraid of the risk of earthquakes or have already suffered from the disaster now prefer to buy land in order to install a prefabricated house instead of an apartment in Turkey.

Selen Aydemir, director of a prefabricated house company (Izmir): “Our sales team has been busy as never before in recent days. Because many landowners these days consider the idea of a prefabricated house. Our company is going to build 4-6 such houses monthly, this week alone we have received 16 orders. The prices for 1+1 prefabricated houses in Turkey start at 30,000 TL. These houses are fire-resistant and seismically safe."
