Turkish Trade Minister Rushar Pekcan stated that with the changes in the rules of real estate trade, only licensed agents and agencies will be allowed to work in this area. Those who do not have a new license will no longer even be able to publish ads on the real estate websites. Now, to open a real estate agency in Turkey, you need to undergo training (at least 100 hours) and have practical experience in the field of real estate consultations (at least 6-12 months). In addition, the managers of real estate agencies are required to have a level 5 certificate, and employees - a level 4 certificate.
Rushar Pekcan: "We strive to improve the quality of services in the real estate sector in Turkey, eliminate unfair competition and illegal property sales. In our country, more than half of all sale and lease transactions are carried out with the help of agencies, there are more than sixty thousand of them in Turkey." However, the number of intermediary companies operating illegally exceeds this figure. Our goal is to ensure that all real estate transactions in Turkey are carried out legally, quickly and safely, in fair competition, on simple and understandable terms for the buyer."
In 2019, about 2.4 million real estate sales were made in Turkey, for 390 billion TL.
