Turkish real estate agencies start operating under the new rules from September 1

New rules for licensing real estate agencies in Turkey come into force: from September 1 realtors must use new permits. Those who continue to work without new certificates giving the right to sell and rent housing will be fined. The fines for agencies may be up to 25 thousand liras, and independent realtors working without a license  will be fined 5607 liras. According to the new rules, advertising (including ads on social networks) of properties for sale and rent even by homeowners is prohibited. Now, in order to rent or sell an apartment, its owner must contact a licensed real estate agency.

The certification of real estate services was introduced in Turkey two years ago: on June 5, 2018. However, it will be mandatory to require certificates only this year, starting from September 1. Such measures were taken by the authorities to regulate the real estate market in Turkey.
