Turkey is in the top of the requests of Russian investors in foreign real estate

Turkey continues to "increase momentum" in the sense of interest in buying residential real estate on its territory from the Russians.

Analysts have yet to sum up the final results of 2022, but it has long been obvious that the Republic of Turkey is leading by a huge margin. Despite the popularity of the UAE as an investment destination in the residential real estate segment, the gap is almost 10%.

Here are TOP-10 countries where Russians most requested (and bought) apartments and houses during the year just ended:

  • Turkey - 31%;
  • UAE - 22%;
  • Cyprus - 14%;
  • Portugal - 8%;
  • Greece 6%;
  • Malta 4%;
  • Caribbean countries - 4%;
  • Spain - 4%;
  • United Kingdom - 4%;
  • Grenada - 3%.

As you can see, "in favor" in any case, mainly "sea" destinations.

Economists have already calculated that without citizens of the Russian Federation and Ukraine in 2022, the volume of transactions with foreign investors could drop to 40%. The resorts of the Antalya coast were in demand in both countries first of all - and so much so that local residents in Antalya even launched a petition on the Internet calling for a ban on selling apartments and houses to foreigners. The ban, however, did not follow.
