Turkish contractors have implemented $8.7 billion worth of projects abroad

The Ministry of Commerce has published statistics on the number of projects implemented by Turkish developers outside the country in 2022.

Despite the fact that the fourth quarter has just begun, there is already information about 215 projects implemented at the moment. Their total cost is $8.69 billion.

By the way, in 2021, despite the economic downturn, Turkish contractors increased the number of jobs abroad to 431.

In the same year, the average cost of projects outside Turkey reached $40,420,000.

In total, since 1972, developers, including those working outside the country's borders, have successfully completed 11,365 projects worth $462.2 billion in 131 countries. Most of them appeared on the territory of Russia (20.6%), with a total budget of $95.385 million.

After Russia, Turkmenistan became the country with the largest number of foreign projects (implemented by Turkish developers) with a share of 10.8% and projects worth more than $50 billion. The next largest are Iraq, Libya, Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia.

As for the specifics of projects, after housing, the largest share falls on the construction of highways, tunnels and bridges.

So, Turkish construction projects are in great demand in the world. The flip side of the coin of this is that local specialists are also in great demand. They are increasingly accepting job offers from foreign firms, which leads to a shortage of professionals in the staff of Turkish developers themselves.
