Turkey's construction and real estate sector has been on the rise for six months, according to the Concrete Producers Association (TRMCA). The sector performance report for 2020 shows a five-month growth (June to October). Therefore, market experts predict that the sector will end this challenging year in positive territory, despite the economic difficulties caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
Yavuz Işık, Chairman of the Concrete Producers Association: "The rise in mortgage rates, the slowdown in lending, the decline in demand, the upcoming events in relations between Turkey and the United States after the American elections, possible measures to combat the pandemic - all this directly or indirectly affects the current state of the construction industry in Turkey. However, the October stats from the Ready-mix Concrete Index show that the construction sector will do well this year, despite all the economic difficulties."
