Real estate price growth has slowed, but probably not for long

The columnist of the newspaper Dünya Alaattin Aktash named the reason why the rate of increase in prices for residential real estate across the country began to decline (despite the fact that for many months the dynamics was simply frightening). After all, according to the Central Bank, as of August 2022, the cost of new buildings has increased by 176% over the past 12 months.

Alattin Aktash clarified that the reason for the slowdown in the growth of prices is the direct effect of the successful launch of the project announced in September to provide social housing for those in need. «At least, there is definitely some psychological effect. And it was expected», the specialist said. Explaining that, most likely, after some time this «effect» should weaken.

Alaattin Aktash also clarified that «... now banks are being told, on the one hand, to provide loans, and on the other hand, everything is being done to limit the use of loans. No one cares about the contradiction». So, he stressed that the rates on housing loans can really be reduced to levels that can be considered zero in today's inflationary environment. That in this case it can push the demand for housing.

A little earlier, it became known the number of applications from applicants for preferential housing under «My first Home» campaign.

Also, 100,000 residences are planned to be distributed among middle-income families.
