The leaders in the purchase of housing in Turkey in March have been determined

In March 2023, foreigners purchased 3,415 housing units in Turkey; this is 3.2% of total sales. Moreover, more than a third - 1,175 residences - were bought by citizens of the Russian Federation. Which have been leading in this sense for a year, and every month.

The next in terms of volume, albeit with a fair "lag", are Iranians: 472 lots. But Iraq and Ukraine are almost identical in terms of indicators: 165 and 160 purchased apartments or houses.

Here are the 20 states whose citizens purchased the most residential real estate in Turkey last month:

RF - 1175;

Iran - 472;

Iraq - 165;

Ukraine - 160;

Kazakhstan - 121;

Germany - 112;

Kuwait - 81;

Saudi Arabia - 73;

Azerbaijan - 69;

England - 65;

USA - 62;

China - 56;

Afghanistan - 51;

Pakistan - 45;

Egypt - 41;

Canada - 37;

Palestine - 36;

Lebanon - 33;

Jordan - 33;

Netherlands - 31.

Recall that the bill that worried many about a possible ban on the sale of housing to foreigners, which the opposition lobbied for, was rejected. The initiators of the law insist on the point of view that citizens of other states are allegedly guilty of such a strong increase in housing prices and thereby allegedly create problems for Turks who want to become owners of their own real estate.

Which does not correspond to reality: prices would rise in any case, but foreigners cannot apply for the purchase of preferential "social" apartments with state support in any case.
