By tradition, we remind you of some of the most interesting news in the construction and real estate sector of Turkey over the past week - the last one in April.
The pace of home sales decreased in March; this is partly due to an increase in the cost of construction. Wage growth does not "keep up" with the rise in real estate prices, so fewer and fewer Turks can now afford to buy housing at its full cost; as a result, they have to resort to various kinds of social programs and promotions. By the way, some large companies take care of their employees: for example, Turkish Airlines announced the construction of apartments on its territory in Istanbul, so that airline employees will be able to claim it on favorable terms for them.
Those who cannot apply for certain subsidies - from the state or from the employer - were, alas, less lucky. But the interest of foreign investors in apartments and houses in Turkey has not changed: demand remains at the same level. TOP-20 countries whose citizens purchased the most housing in March 2023 were determined; in the first place - the Russian Federation, followed by Iran, Iraq and Ukraine. Recall that Russians have been leading in this "improvised digest" every month for the past year.
Among the important news of the transport and social structure, we will mention the imminent appearance in Payallar (Alanya) of another medical center funded by a local philanthropist. Also, the fact that Istanbul and Ankara in some senses have become much closer: due to the high-speed electric train line, the road between the megacities will take only 80 minutes.
Another important news for homeowners renting it out for a long time, and tenants: the limit of 25% for an annual increase in rent for prolonged annual contracts, which was supposed to expire in the summer of 2023, is going to be extended.
