Analysts have put together a list of the 5 most comfortable places to live in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), due to the increasing investment interest in the region.
- Kyrenia (Girne). It serves as a significant hub for culture and economy in Northern Cyprus, bustling with activity from students and tourists, though it may be too loud for those seeking tranquility. However, Kyrenia is close to the international airport and has excellent transport links to other parts of the TRNC, Larnaca Airport (South Cyprus) is also about an hour away.
- Famagusta is a large city on the east coast of Cyprus, over an hour's drive from Kyrenia. This is another place in great demand among emigrants. Many people are interested in the combination of an ancient fortress city and new comfortable residential complexes. Famagusta has the largest harbour in the TRNC, which receives the largest ships. It is also an active city, with numerous shops, restaurants, pubs and cafes. Famagusta is also home to the campus of the Eastern Mediterranean University. As for recreation, the beaches around Famagusta are considered the best on the island.
- Bellapais is a small village in the mountains, about 7 kilometres from Kyrenia. Here is a paradise for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy the magnificent views of nature. An ideal place for families with children to stay, as one of the best international schools on the island is nearby: The English School of Kyrenia.
- Iskele is ideal for expats who have their own business here.
- Nicosia (Lefkoşa) is the capital connecting Northern and Southern Cyprus. It is remote from the sea, and this is its main disadvantage. This is the hottest place in Cyprus: the temperature reaches over 40 degrees in summer. However, this is the capital, with numerous business centres, various entertainment areas, year-round concerts, parties and festivals. There are branches of several international universities in Nicosia. The number of students living in the city exceeds 34,000. However, keep in mind that you will need a car here: public transport is in short supply
However, Northern Cyprus is really in great demand from international investors. It is not surprising that Turkish developers are launching projects in the TRNC.
