One of the most valuable real estate properties in Istanbul listed for sale

One of the most interesting historical properties on the Bosphorus (and one of the most valuable properties in Istanbul), Les Ottomans Hotel is up for sale again. The historic hotel, which hosts important social events in Istanbul and hosts world celebrities, has been in court proceedings for a long time and has been put up for sale and removed from it five times in the last couple of years. Now the hotel is again on sale for 440,735,355 TL (about €45.6 million). The price since the last sale has decreased by €8.4 million. The hotel will be auctioned off on December 17, 2020.

The historic hotel is a 4527 m2 mansion built in 1790 in Istanbul's Besiktas district. Initially, the luxurious property belonged to the vizier of the Ottoman Empire, Müezzinzade Ali Pasha. Today the hotel's facade has been restored in accordance with the historical appearance of the building, and its territory (the garden complex with a fountain) is considered one of the most beautiful examples of the Ottoman Gardens and water architecture. In 1980, the mansion (which by that time was already considerably dilapidated and was used as a coal and sand warehouse), was sold to an entrepreneur who decided to make it a popular tourist spot. The mansion was literally resurrected by the family of the last owners who thoroughly reconstructed the building and restored its interiors. Now the owner of the hotel, the famous Turkish businessman Unal Aisal (who inherited the hotel), is forced to urgently sell the historic property to cover the debts, media reported.
