Foreigners will not be able to apply for preferential residences from TOKI

The Department of Mass Housing Construction TOKI has denied rumors that preferential residences are allegedly provided to citizens of other states, while they were supposed to solve the problem with housing for low-income categories of Turkish citizens.

The rumors were provoked by a publication in the local media on the topic "Houses for Syrians", in which it was reported that in the autumn the keys to a certain number of social apartments, albeit small, were transferred to foreigners, and a little more than one and a half hundred Syrians were on the list of recipients.

TOKI recalled that housing on preferential terms under the state program is sold only to Turkish citizens; if errors or inconsistencies are found in the application on the subject of the applicant's citizenship, the applications are canceled.

Recently it was reported that 50,000 future owners of social apartments have already been identified within the framework of the large-scale state program "My first home, my first workplace". Earlier, the conditions for participation in the program were clarified, as well as the number of residences in different provinces.
