Konya was blessed with a new eco-friendly power plant

The first decade of May turned out to be rich in events in the energy sector: not only will there be its own solar-powered power plant on the university campus in Alanya, but also the grand opening of a similar enterprise took place in Konya province: the new Karapynar power plant. Which has become the largest SES in Europe.

The 1,250 MW system has 3,256,038 panels that "collect" energy from sunlight. It is planned that every year it will produce as much as 3 billion kW of energy. And this, firstly, will be able to meet the needs for heat, water heating, etc. for about two million people. And secondly, it will prevent the release of two million tons of harmful substances into the environment.

What is a very urgent problem for Turkey: Konya is a "continental" province located closer to the territorial center of the country; that is, not seaside, where the temperature does not drop below +5-10 degrees even on the coldest days in winter. In Konya, the climate is sometimes like in central Russia, and on some days and weeks it is even colder; as a result, many local residents heat their homes the old-fashioned way - with stoves in the likeness of "bourgeois". And the smoke from burning wood and coal fills the air.

Which now, with a high probability, will be much cleaner due to the replacement of the outdated method of heating homes with heating by solar energy.

Konya is one of the largest provinces of Turkey, which also falls into the TOP-10 leaders in terms of transactions in the segment of real estate sales.

After the February earthquake, almost 37 000 people moved to Konya (according to official estimates only).
