Foreigners purchase about 30 million sq. m of land in Turkey

Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Mehmet Özhaseki shared with media representatives information from the TÜIK Statistical Institute and the Land Registry that citizens of other countries had purchased 17,076 land plots in Turkey with a total area of 28,318 sq. m by November 14, 2023.

Moreover, this is not only land for development, but also for agriculture: fields, gardens, etc.

The Ministry took into account that foreign investors’ interest in agricultural land is high and continues to grow. Perhaps, as in the case of short-term leases, some additional restrictions will be introduced later to prevent "the sale of the most fertile agricultural plots to foreigners."

However, the authorities are collecting detailed statistics to draw conclusions.

As you know, Istanbul has put up for sale a unique plot overlooking the Bosphorus.

Recall that a unique site with a view of the Bosphorus was recently put up for sale in Istanbul. The price is appropriate: $50 million. Several more successful land plots were available in the provinces of Izmir and Antalya.
