The Turkish Statistics Institute has published the report on the Consumer Confidence Index, an indicator designed to measure the degree of optimism of residents about the state of the economy (expressed in terms of consumption and savings). According to the published July 2020 data, the index of confidence in the construction industry in Turkey rose by 11.6 percent to 87 percent. However, the general index of consumer confidence decreased by 2.7 percent in June and amounted to 60.9 percent.
The index is based on the surveys of consumers (a certain number of residents over 16 years old interviewed). The respondents are offered to fill out a questionnaire with questions about the general economic situation and what they think about it, about their personal financial situation, savings and expenses, about the situation on the market for goods and services.
