A subsidy of up to 0.3 million liras can be obtained for own construction

Financial assistance in the amount of up to 300 000 Turkish lira (TL) will be provided to those who, in the current situation, agree to build their own house, writes Emlak365 with reference to the words of Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

This statement was made by the President after a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkey: in light of the fact that the housing market is very "stormy" after the earthquake situation, the authorities decided to implement a package of measures to support the population. So, 300 000 TL will be allocated to families who are ready to take part in the construction of ordinary (reinforced concrete) buildings, and 200 000 TL – prefabricated houses: for example, as part of the recently announced campaign. But not for everyone: to receive a subsidy, a household must meet certain requirements.

However, not too strict; and in any case, these measures are primarily aimed at supporting the poor and those affected by the earthquake. For example, the elderly, the disabled, single-breadwinner families, widows or widowers; families where per capita income is less than 1/3 of the minimum wage after taxes (2,835.60 TL for 2023). It is also necessary to confirm that the building in which the person lives now is destroyed or is subject to repair; or the family does not have housing in principle, but owns a plot of land with a purpose for residential development.

You can apply through the Solidarity Assistance Fund, as well as through local municipalities.

In parallel, other programs have been launched - in particular, the payment of compensation to those who lost their homes or whose homes were damaged.
