More than five million applications have already been received for participation in the project «My First House», implemented by the Department of Mass Housing Construction (TOKI). More than a million of them are from Istanbul. The draw to determine the beneficiaries of the projects will begin in the near future and will be completed by March 2023.
The number of current applications is now equal to 5,135,324. Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum explained that although the application process is still ongoing, construction was decided not to postpone: the foundations of the first buildings have already been laid. 250,000 residences will be put into operation within two years, as promised by the authorities earlier.
According to the newspaper Hürriyet, a total of 250,000 residential residences, 1 million plots and 10,000 jobs were put up for sale at the first stage of the project (the full name of which is «My first house, my first workplace», since applications are also submitted for the organization of workplaces). In 5 years, this figure will reach a figure of half a million residential apartments or houses and 50,000 jobs.
At the moment, the maximum number of applications has been received on the territory of the largest Turkish metropolis: 1,519,300.
This fall, the authorities will announce housing actions literally one after another. For example, in some places, when buying a land plot, you can get a car as a gift.
