Real estate in Turkey has risen in price by an average of 180% over the year

As we have already told, according to the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, the housing price index in the country increased by 174.3% year-on-year by the last month of the year. Indicators differ for different provinces; residential real estate has risen even more in key cities. So, despite the fact that the average price per 1 sq.m of housing has risen to 16,984 Turkish lira (TL), in Istanbul it is already 26,904 TL (plus 186.3%), in the capital of the Republic of Ankara - 12,445 TL (plus 181.6%), and in the third largest metropolis of the country Izmir - 20,861 TL (plus 176%).

Let's clarify that in high-status residences and in prestigious areas, the rates are even higher, and much higher when it comes to luxury real estate.

Prices are also "spurred on" by interest from foreign investors: in 2022, the volume of transactions with citizens of other states increased by 15.2% compared to the previous year, reaching 67,490 housing units sold by them. And almost every fourth lot was bought by Russians.

Well, in general, the number of housing transactions in 2022 was equal to 2021.
