Real estate sales in Turkey in the first half of 2020 amounted to 1,058,448 housing units, despite the coronavirus pandemic and related restrictions. These figures have been published by the Anadolu news agency. Most of the apartments were sold during this period in Istanbul (150,699 objects), the second place was taken by Ankara (93,511 objects), the third - Izmir (58,852 objects). Antalya took the fourth place in the semi-annual sales rating (44,939 objects), the fifth - Bursa (40,240 objects).
The total amount of fees for the registration of property transactions in Turkey for six months amounted to about 7 billion lira while the total amount of transactions reached 194 billion 332 million lira.
Home sales in the first six months of this year rose 23.5 percent over the same period last year. Sales of mortgage apartments and houses during teh period between January and June increased by 221.4 percent (compared to last year's result), while non-mortgage sales decreased by 15.3 percent.
