It turned out the number of applications for preferential housing from middle-income families

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan recently clarified that within the framework of the «My New Home» program, designed to support the purchase of their own homes, the interests of different groups of buyers are taken into account: a separate scheme will be offered to citizens who want to purchase secondary real estate. But this scheme is still being rolled out; in the meantime, the authorities are collecting data on how much money will be needed to subsidize the purchase of residential real estate for people with average incomes.

This second stage (after the beginning of the first stage - assistance to households with low and below average income) started on January 16, 2023.

In the first 10 days, more than eight thousand applications were submitted to state banks and related organizations participating in the program.

Recall that as part of this campaign, the country was divided into zones, and citizens can count on co-financing purchases within 5 million Turkish liras (TL) in the first zone, which includes the province of Istanbul. The second zone covers Ankara, Izmir, Bursa, Antalya, Mersin and Muglu, that is, the largest megacities and the most popular resort regions; and all the remaining provinces fall into the third zone. In the first zone, financial assistance is expected in the amount of up to 5 million Turkish liras (TL), in the second - up to 3 million, and in the third - up to 2 million.

As a result, 1,859 applications for participation in the program were submitted by citizens wishing to purchase their own housing in the first zone; 1,797 - in the second and 4,371 - in the third.

Also, the size of state subsidies for rent in large cities continues to be discussed, where the already approved subsidy of 1,500 TL per month is clearly not enough.
