New rules for registration of real estate transactions come into force in Turkey

From September 15, new rules for the execution of transactions for the purchase and sale of apartments in Turkey come into force. Emlak Kulisi, a construction and real estate publication in Turkey, reports this with reference to the General Directorate of Land Management and Cadastre. Now the cadastral authorities of the Republic registering property transactions will be able to do this completely remotely: the buyer will not have to come to the registration of TAPU - a certificate of ownership of a house or apartment in Turkey.

The new rule will apply to those buyers and sellers of real estate who are located in different parts of the country or live outside Turkey. A pilot application that allows registering transactions remotely was launched in test mode on January 17, 2020 in several provinces of Turkey and in Berlin. Now, starting September 15, the application will be expanded to cover all Turkish provinces. It will allow sellers and buyers of apartments in Turkey to save time and money that were previously required for travel and living in Turkey to make real estate transactions.
