Construction of a new city attraction completed in Istanbul

Turkish media are going to announce the opening of the Ataturk Cultural Center, which is being completed in Istanbul. Due to the pandemic, the construction of a new cultural centre was suspended for several months, but work has now resumed, the opening is planned to coincide with the Republic Day (October 29), 2021.

According to the Hürriyet newspaper, the complex will include the futuristic Ataturk Cultural Centre (a stylish building surrounded by a landscaped park) and the new Presidential Symphony Orchestra Concert Hall, which took 28 years to build! Now the creators of the cultural centre are faced with an aesthetic problem: in the central part there is a historic municipal building, which violates the entire architectural appearance of the complex. Therefore, the creators of the Ataturk Cultural Centre project have to convince the municipality of the need to transfer this historical property of Istanbul to another area of the city.
