Mersin will get better with gas and water

The foundation of the gas distribution complex (storage and distribution of natural gas) for the districts of Anamur and Gulnar, Mersin province, was laid recently.

Gulnar Mayor Alpaslan Yunuvar officially announced that citizens will start using "local" natural gas in November of this year - 2023.

The groundbreaking ceremony was held in the Kalynoren district, the ceremony was attended by the Mayor Hidayet Kylynch, as well as the regional manager of the Aksa Natural Gas company Tufan Duman.

Also recently, the public utilities service of another district of Mersin - Erdemli - talked about the beginning of repair work, the purpose of which is to replace old water pipes with new ones. About 6,000 meters of pipes are subject to replacement, presumably it will cost the local authorities 6.6 million Turkish lira.

The updated water supply system will provide local residents with better drinking water, and farmers with irrigation opportunities for gardens, fields and other agricultural land, explained Necati Shen, head of the Erdemli municipal services.

The infrastructure of Mersin province has been developing especially rapidly in recent months, largely due to the construction of the Akkuyu NPP: the date of commissioning of the first power unit has already been set. A "test" flight to the Mersin Airport, which is about to open, took place; the metro is also being laid here. Well, thanks to the new coastal highway connecting Antalya and Mersin, the travel time between them has been reduced to 5 hours.
