The Ministry of Environment and Urban Development of Turkey has announced a tender for the creation of a public garden in the city of Bolu, located on the old highway between Istanbul and Ankara. The project involves the creation of an extensive public forest park with a coffee shop, social facilities and infrastructure for family outdoor activities, an orchard, medicinal plant lawns, landscaping, bicycle and jogging paths and picnic areas. The Bolu public garden project will also include playgrounds and sports grounds for children and adults
Public gardens are being opened in different cities and provinces of Turkeyand are modern landscaped park areas. The Turkish Social Housing Authority (TOKI) implements the projects of the public gardens.
Turkey has been actively developing parks and gardens in recent years. In 2018, the President of Turkey promised his citizens that in every Turkish city there will be public gardens, vast green areas with landscape design and recreation infrastructure, with forest areas, bike paths, concert halls, picnic gazebos, sports and playgrounds. The goal of the public gardens program is to transform 81 million m2 of space in each Turkish province (81 in total) into a landscape park by 2023. Today, about 25 public gardens have already been opened in Turkey.
