The process of changing the address when moving homeowners was simplified

Constant changes in the rules concerning obtaining a residence permit, especially since the financial threshold for obtaining citizenship under the accelerated procedure was raised from USD 250,000 to 400,000 puzzle homeowners and those who are just planning to buy an apartment in Turkey. Not so long ago, the authorities published a list of areas where foreigners can no longer get a primary residence permit; formally, this concerned only tourists (renting housing), but in fact, according to eyewitnesses, it has already begun to affect those who buy apartments or houses for their own residence, which is very inconvenient. There was also talk about supposedly mandatory social adaptation courses for newcomers who are not tourists.

However, in order not to scare off potential investors in residential real estate, the government is looking for opportunities to simplify some processes. In particular, this affected registration. Recall that in order to obtain a residence permit, you need to register at the actual place of residence.

However, now a new service has appeared on the official e-devlet portal: an address registration service has been opened to notify about a change of address for a residence permit; see the portal www.turkiye.gov.tr.

Now there is no need to go anywhere and collect papers: it is enough to re-register on the portal, which greatly simplifies the situation. You can register both yourself (the owner) and family members.

So, residents of areas where the departments for working with foreigners are overloaded, now do not have to worry that they may be forced to break the rules. This also applies to Antalya province, where a particularly strong flow of immigrants has poured in since the beginning of 2022.

We recently told you that citizens of the Russian Federation and Iran purchase the most residential real estate in Antalya.
