Turkish developer sells land for a large shopping mall and office center

It became known that the developer Iş GYO put up for sale the land plot on which the Marmara Park shopping center was built, as well as the Maslak office building, currently located in the portfolio of the company's investment assets. This decision was made at the meeting of the Board of Directors of Iş GYO, held on September 16, 2024; the Iş Gayrimenkul Yatırım Ortaklığı (GYO) Trust transferred powers to its general Directorate.

The shopping center and the office center are located geographically next to each other, on adjacent plots, in the Saryer district of Istanbul. Negotiations with potential buyers will be conducted by the directorate. The total gross area of the Marmara Park shopping center is 62.343 thousand square meters.m. The current market value of the mall, which opened in 2012, was estimated at 2.3 billion Turkish lira (TL) as of June 28, 2024. The Iş GYO Maslak office building is located opposite the Maslak campus of Istanbul Technical University, on a plot of 4,469 thousand square meters, its actual cost was not reported by the media.

Recall that commercial space is one of the successful options for investing in real estate in Turkey, especially in Istanbul as an economic, commercial and business hub. That is why developers are increasingly deciding on combined projects. which include not only housing, but also retail and office space. One example of such projects is the recently announced IFC in Ankara.
