The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) has published information on the record increase in apartment prices, which was observed in July 2020. According to the index, not only the record sales of real estate were observed in July, but also a significant increase in the prices of houses and apartments - on average, by 19.5 percent. In Istanbul, where 39,432 objects were sold in July, prices rose by 17.2 percent. In Ankara, where 26,885 objects were sold in July, prices rose by 11.7 percent. In Izmir, which was ranked the third, prices rose 6.8 percent.
How much did a square meter of housing cost in Turkey by the end of July? Taking into account the 19.5 percent rise in price, the average price per square meter of housing was 2,514 lira (about €290). The average return on investment in houses and apartments in Turkey was 18 years.
