Istanbul airport breaks records again

The new Airport (located in the European part of Istanbul and replaced the former Ataturk Airport) is again a record holder: in the period from September 19 to 26, 2022, according to the European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation (Eurocontrol), it was from this air hub that the largest number of flights in Europe were carried out. 

 

The average number of flights was 1,286 units per day.

 

So, the New Airport was ahead of two other European airports among the largest in this parameter: Schiphol (Amsterdam) and Charles de Gaulle (Paris): there, the average daily number of flights was equal to 1,272 and 1,236 for the same period, respectively.
