New details of «My First Home» project announced by the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan on September 13, 2022 have become known. The project is implemented by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change and the Office of Mass Housing Construction (TOKI).
Of the more than five million applications for preferential housing received, more than one and a half million, as we have already reported, were received in the province of Istanbul. Other statistics recorded 240,358 applications from Izmir, 166,200 from Gaziantep, 188,748 from Bursa, 232,857 from Ankara and 160,905 from Konya.
As for the social «characteristics» of applicants, the greatest interest in the project was shown by young people: more than 2 million (2,030,277) applied for housing. Another half a million (505,934) applications were accepted from pensioners.
The winners of this «social competition» will be allowed to buy 2+1 and 3+1 apartments on favorable terms.
According to another social program, 100,000 residences will be distributed among middle-income families.
