In Turkey, tenants began to face the fact that tenants wishing to change the terms of the lease or the tariff, or to evict residents, reduced the time for settling all issues to... one month. That is, if the owner "changed his mind" to rent housing (we can guess about the reasons: the desire to earn more by signing a new contract with new applicants), then he often invents supposedly objective reasons for terminating the contract with the current tenants, giving them only 30 days to find new housing and move out.
This is in addition to the previously appeared semi-annual lease agreements, which became an unpleasant surprise for those who live in rented housing almost all their lives.
The question regarding "a month to vacate the living space" has already reached the court again: a tenant, whom the landlord informed that he was allegedly going to divorce his wife and transfer the apartment to her, applied for protection of his rights in Istanbul.
Assessing the issue, Prosecutor Ayshe Huseynoglu drew attention to the fact that the term - one month - is critically small in the current conditions. Specifying that "the new owner may demand to vacate the house within 6 months, provided that a written notice is sent to the tenant within 1 month from the date of purchase of the leased property." But if the annual contract expires soon, then the owner may demand the eviction of tenants within 1 month from the expiration date of the previous contract, if he does not prolong it (and the owner, of course, will not extend it).
Earlier, rental payments were canceled in the provinces affected by the February earthquake with an epicenter in Kahramanmarash; the cancellation is valid for one quarter.
