The rental market, especially in the most popular cities and districts of Turkey, is already so «overheated» that some of the realtors and homeowners have already begun to arrange a kind of auction for the right to rent an apartment or house of interest. That is, the one who offers the highest monthly rental rate becomes a happy tenant. In particular, this is observed in Istanbul.
The head of the Istanbul Chamber of Realtors Nizameddin Asha, commenting on this «trend», clarified that tenants in such cases – when faced with a similar situation, contacting agencies or directly to the owners for rental housing – can and should bring this information to official authorities. In particular, it would not hurt to file a complaint with the representative office of the Ministry of Commerce in the city where they live and rent real estate.
Recall that in 2022, Turkey was the leader in the growth rate of rental prices. In many popular areas, the monthly payment has risen to 20,000 Turkish liras.
